What are you most passionate about?

I’m passionate about children because they are the future.  I feel that it is partly my job to educate children in many different ways.  One way that I do this is through coaching baseball.  Baseball/coaches have taught me a lot about life, like how important it is to be where you are needed (responsibility), how important it is to help other learn the game (leadership) or how to work as a team with others on the field.  Another is encouraging others when they aren’t playing well.  Positivity is like a light that shines in the darkest of times. I hope to help children learn these concepts and many more.  All this leads me to living life. And to me, living life is making an impact, or leaving an impression.  And I think that if children can take what I hope to teach them and pass it on to other children or even their children, just maybe, it will make an impact on the world.

Are you involved in the local community? If so, how?

I attend Central Reform Church and help in services.

What have you seen Mahaska do that benefits the local community?

They help with the education of the community by employing interns.  I have also seen Mahaska help schools with purchases of equipment.
