Ride Your Bike to Work Day at Mahaska

Mahaska Bike to Work DayLast Friday, May 22nd was Ride Your Bike to Work day at Mahaska’s Oskaloosa location! Bike to Work Days began in the 1950s as a health initiative created by the League of American Bicyclists as a part of National Bike Month. The movement encourages people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving. Bike to Work Days are held across the nation with a diverse range of regional and community events supporting the initiative.

Mahaska had three employees participate in this year’s event: John Edwards, Michael Courtney, and Andy Davis. To encourage and support their efforts, Mahaska donated fun prizes for participants. Michael (in yellow), part of Mahaska’s load crew, won a Mountain Dew fishing bucket and a gift card. John, a Mahaska Vending Technician, received a gift card and a cool Pepsi Sling bag. Thanks to all who participated in this great Mahaska event. We look forward to Bike to Work Day next year!
